Every afternoon, on reservation, guests could discover Etna flavors, with the tasting of five wines, included Nerello Mascalese Cru, with ancient wheat bread and Monaci’s olive oil. Enjoy our wine tasting with expert sommelier, through the charming shapes of Nerello Mascalese and Carricante, the two most important wine grapes of mount Etna.

Mount Etna is the third most important wine producing area in Italy, for the great diversity of its land and its microclimates, and the extraordinary finesse of its wines, in a few years the volcano has become a small ‘Barolo’ , compared to the ‘Cote D’or’ of Burgundy because of the wine cultivations at high altitude (up to 1500 meters above sea level) produce wines similar to the best Burgundy Pinot Noir.Today Etna is considered the” Burgundy of the Mediterranean “.

It is the beginning of the Mount Etna wine (and not only) renaissance, Wine Spectator put 3 of our Etna wines on the list of the best 100 wines from Italy, we bottle about 0.1% of the national wine!

In the Etna region there are substantial differences in climate, not only compared to the rest of Sicily, but also from one area of the volcano to another, because the region has semi-circular shape, spread from north to south-west, which creates different environments with their own microclimate, different exposure and different level of proximity to the sea.

Altitude factor is the main reason for the temperature amplitudes between day and night and seasonally.

There are many places to visit. Let us be your guide in the charming world of Etna wines.
