The Catarratto is a white grape and the most cultivated in Sicily. When grown in the lava soils of Mt. Etna, however , it does not have the bitter aftertaste sometimes found in much of the Sicilian continent.

Besides the characteristics of softness, body and velvety tannins, it achieves a natural depth of tone from the lava soil of Etna. "U 'Ranaci" is the name used by our ancestors who' Sicilianized 'the name of the Grenace.
